Personal Injury Lawyer in Madison, Wisconsin
David Blinka is a shareholder of Habush Habush & Rottier and has practiced at the firm’s Madison office since 2012 when he assisted with representing hundreds of Wisconsin property owners impacted by a gasoline pipeline spill. He has since advocated on behalf of injured persons for claims involving motor vehicle accidents, premises injuries, wrongful death and product liability. David has engendered the trust of his clients through clear and effective communication, particularly with respect to how the law allows injured persons to pursue and present their claims.
Notably, David has achieved success not just at the trial court level but also in the appellate courts. In Bolger v Massachusetts Bay, 2024 WI App 19 (published), he successfully overcame an insurer’s denial of coverage for injuries that arose from a driver’s negligent operation of a utility terrain vehicle. The Court of Appeals agreed with his adeptly argued case that the homeowner’s insurance policy terms were ambiguous in relationship to one another, thereby affording coverage for his injured client. In another case, Stelling v. Middlesex, 2023 WI App 10 (published), David helped to achieve clarity with respect to how Wisconsin’s venue selection statutes are interpreted, ensuring that his client, and future plaintiffs, may continue to select fair venues for their trials.
By devoting his career to helping those who suffer from the wrongful acts of others, he has earned distinction from various institutions. He was recognized as a Rising Star from 2014 to 2022 and was selected as a Super Lawyer in both 2023 and 2024 by Super Lawyers. In 2017, the Wisconsin Law Journal distinguished David as an Up and Coming Lawyer. He also earned a place on the Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society for providing volunteer legal representation to those in need of equal access to justice. David was nominated as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for their 2025 edition.
Outside of his practice, David is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the Dane County Bar Association, where he has served as its Treasurer since 2021. And as a member of the Wisconsin State Bar and the Wisconsin Association for Justice, he has published articles on various litigation topics and presented at legal seminars for continuing education. David also serves on the board of the Woodland Montessori School in Madison, Wisconsin, where he lives with his wife and two children who enrich his life immensely.

Client Testimonials
My Attorney, David S. Blinka, went the extra mile for me. I was in a car accident and he took care of dealing with the lawsuit against the insurance company so that I did not have to worry and could concentrate on healing from my injuries. He also took the time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand. Being a single mom with my hands already full, made my life easier knowing I did not have to worry about the legal part of the accident. I highly recommended this Law Firm.
Carie MadisonWorking with Dave made it such a painless and simple process. He and his colleagues did all the work and I was absolutely amazed at what he got me for a settlement. Plus I’m not the easiest client, sometimes impossible to get a hold of, but he never got mad or impatient, God knows I would have. He is an excellent attorney I hope to never have to hire again, but he would be the 1st name I’d recommend to family and friends.
Scott MadisonI can’t say enough positives about how David handled my case. He was easily reachable at all times, he answered all my questions and explained things in an easy way to understand also. He fought for what we both agreed was fair. He’s very knowledgeable about accident cases and guided me very effectively throughout the entire process from beginning to end. I would recommend and refer anyone who needs representation to David, 100%. Thanks.
Jeff MadisonAfter an MVA in 2016, resulting in injury, I decided to seek legal counsel after being left with chronic pain. Having never sought legal representation for this sort of thing, I was a bit anxious about what to expect. David (and his assistant Kathy) were very patient with me and explained everything every step of the way. I felt pretty relaxed with the whole process when it could have been overall very nerve-wracking. I never felt rushed with our conversations and felt reassured along the way that I did have a case that could be settled in my favor. Most of all, I felt like I was treated like a human being, not a paycheck. Thank you, I appreciate all of your hard work for me!
